What is Ember & Axis

The name was intentional.

An ember is a small spark that, with the right conditions, ignites. An axis is the fixed centre around which everything rotates. Together, they represent exactly what this business was built to do; provide the spark and the structure behind growth that actually lasts.

Ember & Axis was founded after years of working in operations and realising that the part that need nurturing and never felt like work was developing the people and processes around me.

Ember & Axis offers expert coaching, consulting, and analytics, tailored for individuals and organisations. Specialising in leadership and team development, process optimisation, and business growth and strategy.

There are no off-the-shelf programs here, no generic frameworks. Every engagement starts with understanding. Understanding the people, the culture, the gaps, the goals. What gets delivered is built specifically around you.

Meet the owner, Blair

Blair Stubna is the founder, owner and passionate operator of Ember & Axis.

I didn't have a lot handed to me growing up. No clear direction, no obvious next step. What I had was a willingness to work hard with continuous improvement always in mind, and that turned out to be enough to build something real.

I spent over 15 years in planning and operations across FMCG and Hospitality industries, working my way through the ranks while raising a family and completing a Diploma of Business Management and Leadership along the way. That time taught me how businesses actually function, not in theory, but on the ground, under pressure, when people and processes are tested.

That's the lens I bring to every client I work with.

Ember & Axis exists because I found something I'm good at and care about deeply. Helping people and organisations move forward in ways that stick. That looks different depending on who I'm working with. For some, it's building cohesion across teams and departments. For others, it's working one on one with a leader who's ready to back themselves at a higher level.

Before I offer any advice, I want to understand the full picture. The people, the dynamics, the day-to-day. I'm not interested in applying a pre-built solution to a problem I haven't taken the time to understand. Everything I deliver is built around the specific organisation or individual in front of me, practical enough to implement, and adaptable enough to last.

Outside of client work, I hold board and executive committee positions with organisations that advocate for equal opportunity, it reflects how I think about people and leadership at every level. I believe everyone deserves access to the kind of support that helps them grow, and the positions I hold are an extension of that.

I'm also driven by data. Not for the sake of it, but because evidence is what separates a good feeling from a sound strategy. It's how I measure where you are, track where you're going, and prove that the work is moving the needle.

And I believe that honest, well-placed feedback, delivered with care, can change the trajectory of a person or a business entirely.
